Prayer walking What a humbling experience! If you can walk, then add a prayer.... if you pray, then go for a walk! Prayer walking at ILC involved sitting in the cafeteria dining hall with the 200+missionaries in training was incredible! Meeting many of them-one on-one.... listening to their plans, their faith in God, their challenges, their willingness to sell all they have to go out into a mission field...while taking notes to include in our prayer walks & quiet times, & to share with our HBC family.
Listen for God's invitation to join the next prayer walk. Be an active part in supporting our missionaries and the missionaries in training. Even participate locally in our HBC mission programs when prayer walking for upcoming events is announced.
There's power in prayer!

How would you like to go around the world in less than “80 Days ?” Just spend time at the International Learning Center @ the IMB! It was such an amazing and humbling experience. What a privilege to spend a few days talking, eating, laughing, crying, and praying for “the missionaries.” They are going out the door to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the planet.
They are no longer “the missionaries.” Each one now has a face and name planted in my heart. They have literally given up EVERYTHING to go serve Jesus. Some will go where no one has been to find people groups who have not yet heard the Gospel. There are 8 billion people on the planet … 3 billion have yet to hear.
While they have been called by God to serve Him in this way, they are ordinary people like you & me from all walks of life. They have put their confidence in Jesus Christ and in His Gospel. We serve a mighty God!
Here are some takeaways for me from our time there:
• They were amazed and grateful that we had driven 12 hours just to come and pray with them. They truly believe beyond a shadow of a doubt in the power of prayer. The privilege was ours.
• They are laser-focused on the task before them with such passion & determination. They understand that the mission will cost them.
• They have already determined that Jesus is worth it All.
• Obedience is EVERYTHING. God’ s Word is Truth. Live by the Spirit.
• There’s no turning back. Even if you’re afraid, do it anyway. It’s His power & strength.
• “Abide well. Put sin to death.”
• “ Sell everything. Lock the door & go …”
It seriously challenged me to look at my own walk with Christ. What is He requiring of me? Have I seriously counted the cost to follow Him? What does that really look like? Is He worth EVERYTHING to me?
If you ever have the opportunity to go to ILC or on a missions trip … go!!! Our confidence is in Jesus Christ & His Gospel!
Revelation 7:9 “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.”
